The Stampede have gone undefeated in their first five games of the Norcal Spring season.
The locals started with a 6-0 rout of the Stockton Cal Cougars in which Striker Jordan Davis secured two goals and Niya Allen one with assists from Anne Ayotte and Sherlyn García and added two of her own assists on goals by Ayotte and Sophie Karperos. Lily Byrne added the final goal to close out the match. A week later the Stampede defeated a physical Sacramento United 2-1. Byrne split two defenders to put Davis up 1-0 in first half then assisted J Davis who got past the back line for the second goal. A late tally from Sac not wasn't enough to stop their defeat. Sacramento's Galaxy Blues suffered the same fate the next day. J Davis scored twice on assists from Talyssa Tucker and Skye Shaffer. Niya Allen then tallied a put back on a J Davis attempt that ricocheted off the keeper. Karperos scored on a long run to blast in the final goal on a through-ball from J Davis. The following game against Placer United proved to be the toughest yet, ending in a 0-0 deadlock. The locals got back on track Sunday beating Elk Grove's Inter Rage 2-0 when J Davis scored twice, one off a Byrne assist.
Allowing just a single goal in five games illustrates the defensive prowess of keeper McKenna Lutzker and of the Stampede's impressive backfield: Allie Belafsky, Grace Barger, Grace Carlson, Sherlyn García, Lindsey Vernau, Ainsley Carroll, Sydney Moore, Leah Eccles and Yasmeen Dmeiri.
