The Stampede finished the Norcal Premier fall season with just one loss, eight wins and one tie. After suffering their only loss to top ranked Elk Grove 2-1 (where Anne Ayotte scored from 25 off an assist by Sophie Karperos), the locals racked up 13 goals in their impressive final four wins against the Stockton Cal Cougars (2-0), IR Academy Magic (4-0), Modesto Ajax (6-1) and Sac United (1-0).
The Stampede forwards demonstrated their ability to finish in the four matches as Jordan Davis got 5 goals, Sophie Karperos 4, Ainsley Carroll 2 and Niya Allen 2 with assist from Lily Byrne, Yasi Dmeiri, Skye Shaffer, Davis and Carroll. Julyana Lara provided considerable support on the right and left wing.
Dmeiri led a strong defensive side throughout with strong play from Shaffer, Grace Barger, Grace Carlson, Leah Eccles and Allie Belafsky. The midfield continued to dominate with Byrne, Ayotte, Lindsey Vernau and Sydney Moore while keeper McKenna Lutzker made sure balls stayed out of the Stampede net throughout the season.
The Stampede are now preparing for the State Cup tournament which starts in December.

9/28/14: Stampede Premier Cup finalists
The Stampede won three straight before dropping the final of the Premier Cup Tournament held September 27-28 at the Davis Legacy Soccer Complex. In Game 1 vs. the Galaxy Blues, Sophie Karperos scored twice and Niya Allen once on three assists from Anne Ayotte. Ayotte added a goal of her own to end the match 4-0. In the Saturday afternoon game vs. Sac United, Lily Byrne opened with two quick goals in the first half. Ainsley Carroll took advantage of a defensive mistake after the break to score from 12 and seal the 3-0 win. Stampede's dominance continued Sunday morning vs. BOCA as Karperos scored on an assist from Carroll. Lindsey Vernau followed with a far post left footer from 18 to make it 2-0 and Anu Kane buried a 25 yard blast for goal number three. Sydney Moore ended things with a final goal from 18 after intercepting a defensive clear.

9/21/14: Stampede continue undefeated in fall play
The Stampede tied league rival Manteca 1-1 in league play Saturday, 9/20, at the Davis Legacy Complex. Niya Allen scored early on an assist from Sophie Karperos but the Red Stars came back with an equalizer soon after. Sunday's preliminary round State Cup match against Lamorinda was a different story altogether as the locals walloped the East Bay opponent 6-0. Karperos scored first on an assist from Lily Byrne, then Jordan Davis fed Allen to make it 2-0. Allen scored again cleaning up at close range from a Davis' long range shot that bounced off the keeper. Sydney Moore got into the act as she launched in a slow roller from 20. Lindsey Vernau found Karperos near the 6 for the fifth goal and Karperos in turn found Davis who sealed the 6-0 shutout.
9/14/14: Stampede get three shutouts to start the fall season
The Stampede shut out their first three opponents in early Norcal State Cup qualifying and fall league play. The locals first edged Woodland 1-0 in the midday heat when Niya Allen scored on a left wing blast. The following two games featured five goals by Jordan Davis: a hat trick vs. Placer United and two more vs. American River FC with assists from Allie Belafsky, Ainsley Carroll and Lily Byrne. The Stampede's defense remains dominant as they continue to stonewall opponents, helping keeper McKenna Lutzker retain her clean sheet during fall play.
9/2/14: Stampede make United Cup finals
The Stampede showcased their impressive offensive and defensive mastery last weekend as they made the finals of the United Cup held in San Juan Capistrano. Allowing only four regular goals in six matches, defenders Yasmeen Dmeiri, Grace Carlson, Grace Barger, Leah Eccles, Allie Belafsky and Skye Shaffer suffocated opposing offenses with constant hustle, intelligent ball movement and composure. Keeper McKenna Lutzker came up big in every game, making hard saves and distributing the ball to set up counterattacks. Defending midfielders Lindsey Vernau and Sydney Moore added further support while controlling play across the middle. Anne Ayotte provided solid midfield control all weekend while expertly distributing the ball to create chances.
Game 1 ended in a draw after San Diego's Arsenal FC found an equalizer to Dmeiri's 30 yard goal off a free kick. Davis added two herself, one as a result of an impressive run down the left side from Niya Allen who got by three defenders to find Davis at the six. Carroll provided an additional tally, assisted by Ayotte.

8/12/14: Stampede finalists at Mustang Tourney
The Davis Stampede, a U13 girls soccer team, played at a high-level throughout the ultra-competitive Mustang Stampede Tournament in Danville reaching the finals of the Premier Division before eventually taking second.
The successful run started Saturday morning with a 2-1 win over Santa Clara Sporting. Lily Byrne got assists on both local goals, first feeding midfielder Sydney Moore, who drilled it in off a defender’s head from 20. The next set-up went to Jordan Davis for the eventual game-winner.
Next came a back-and-forth affair with the physical Juventus Regazze, which ended in a 3-3 tie after a flurry of second-half scoring. Early on, Sophie Karperos intercepted a goal kick and quickly drove it into the net to give the Stampede a 1-0 lead.
It was the only goal of the first half, but after the break goals from Davis and Karperos put the locals up 3-2 before Juventus tied the score late.
Davis then took care of Oregon’s Capital FC, 4-0, with Niya Allen scoring twice, the second on an impressive left-footed screamer from 20 off a through ball from Anu Kane. Additionally for the Stampede, Anne Ayotte found Karperos in the box for another tally, then scored herself off an assist from Moore.

On the play, Dmeiri calmly sent the ball into the box from long range with Davis in hot pursuit. When the keeper failed to clear it, one Stampede player — Davis — tried to outrun the entire Avalanche defense to the ball as it rolled slowly toward goal. Davis won the race, and sent the locals to the championship contest.

7/13/214: Stampede 50/50 at Davis College Showcase
The Stampede won two of four games at the College Showcase Tournament held July 11-13th at the Davis Legacy Soccer Complex. They started with a 2-0 win over the Cal Blues. Jordan Davis started things off by tapping in a bouncing ball at close range and later Leah Eccles scored from midfield after launching one over the stunned keeper's head. J Davis continued her tallies in the next match vs. the Cal Cougars as she got by the defense to with a skillful finish to strike first blood. She continued with a dummy assist to Lily Byrne who scored from the spot making in 2-0. Byrne then made it 3-0 after dribbling through the defense and Anne Ayotte finished the game 4-0 as she drilled in a low liner from 18. Despite the impressive start, the locals were unable to best top rivals USA Stars and Manteca FC later in the tournament.
6/23/14: Stampede Win US Club West Regionals
The Stampede dealt their opponents four straight shutouts over the weekend to win the US Club West Regionals. Matched against the Cal Blues in the first round, winger Niya Allen got a ball past the keeper early to make it 1-0. Anne Ayotte then chased down and knocked in a ricochet in the box to end the game 2-0. The locals managed the same outcome in round two against Sac United. Grace Barger began with a long shot that spun through the keeper's hands and Jordan Davis sealed the shutout with a penalty to the upper right corner after forward Ainsley Carroll was tripped up in the box. Modesto's Cal Cougars turned out to fare no better against the locals in the third round as Ayotte assisted Davis for the first goal. Midfielder Lily Byrne then got by the back line to score the second. The championship game matched the Stampede once again against Sac United, but the outcome was the same. Ayotte scored both goals, first off a beautiful cross from Davis and then on a free kick just outside the box. Notable defending from Yasmeen Dmeiri, Leah Eccles, Skye Shaffer, Julyana Lara, Sydney Moore and Grace Carlson, and a flurry of great saves from keeper McKenna Lutzker ensured that no goals would come from any opponent the entire weekend.
6/8/14: Stampede Reach Norcal Cross Regional Finals
The Stampede have firmly established their top-ten ranking in Northern California after reaching the finals in last weekend's Norcal Premier Cross Regional playoffs. The locals got by Diablo FC Saturday afternoon with aggressive offense from Jordan Davis, Lindsay Vernau and Allie Belafsky, who combined for four goals with two assists from Vernau. On Sunday the Stampede were challenged by triple digit temperatures and two very tough teams. The semifinal featured a barn burner against the Mountain View/Los Altos Avalanche. The game's only goal came in overtime when Niya Allen's blast from the left wing was too much for the keeper to handle, allowing striker Jordan Davis to pass in the 1-0 tally, advancing the team to the finals. The Stampede faced Elk Grove for the afternoon final with the mercury reading 105 degrees at kickoff. Falling behind 2-0 in the second half, the locals somehow fought through the extreme heat and fatigue to tie the game 2-2. Forward Sophie Karperos first knocked in Davis' shot off the post and soon after Davis followed her own shot, racing to beat the keeper to tap in the equalizer. But with just minutes left, Elk Grove got one more to seal their victory.
Yasmeen Dmeiri once again led the Stampede defense all weekend long, anticipating attacks and beating the opponents to the ball. Fellow defender Grace Carlson came up big against the opposing strikers while midfielders Vernau and Lily Byrne worked tirelessly to control the ball, rarely getting a break from the baking sun. Leah Eccles, Sydney Moore, Skye Shaffer, Grace Barger, Julyana Lara and Ainsley Carroll bolstered the midfield and defense with solid efforts while keeper McKenna Lutzker fended off shot after shot.

5/31/14: Stampede win four straight to qualifiy for Cross Regionals
Winning four straight to finish the spring season, the Stampede are headed to Norcal's Cross Regional Playoffs next weekend. The streak started May10th when they got by the Galaxy Blues 3-2 in a tough see-saw battle. The very next day they shut out league leading rival Elk Grove 2-0 despite having been routed by the very same team earlier in the season. The following weekend they beat American River Freedom 3-1. The locals finished their impressive run Saturday, May 31st, defeating Sac United 1-0.
Forwards Jordan Davis, Niya Allen, Ainsley Carroll and Sophia Karperos have provided a steady stream of impressive goals, pressing the opponents' defense with speedy runs and breakaways. 5/25/14: Stampede drop two of three in South Bay
The Stampede faced three new teams at the 2014 Sporting Girls Invitational Tournament held in Morgan Hill. They suffered consecutive losses Saturday against the Mustang Legends, 0-2, and the ACC Mavericks, 1-2, but came back fighting Sunday morning to beat the San Francisco Vikings, 2-0.
5/3/14: Stampede Win Davis Super Clásico!
The Stampede took first place in the annual Davis Super Clásico, Cinco de Mayo Edition held last weekend at the Davis Legacy Sports Complex. The locals qualified for the semi-finals after going 2 and 1 in the preliminary round, beating the Bay Area Gryphons 3-0 and the Fresno Alliance 3-1, but losing to the Manteca Red Stars 0-2. After squeaking by the Oakland Bay Oaks Bombers 1-0 in the semis, the Stampede once again faced their formidable Manteca rival in the championship match. The final proved to be a hard fought stalemate until the last 15 minutes when the Stampede finally broke through with two goals to seal tournament gold.
4/26/14: Stampede Placer
Davis met Placer United in spring league play for a second time in as many weeks. Placer came from behind twice to even the score and game ended tied, 2-2.
04/22/14: Stampede Find Their Spring Stride
The Davis Legacy Stampede are looking strong as the Norcal Premier spring season comes into full swing. Having suffered consecutive losses in their first two matches against Elk Grove and the Cal Blues, the locals have bounced back with three straight victories against American River Freedom (2-1), Sacramento United (3-0) and Placer United (2-0). The Stampede look to continue their winning streak when they face Placer again this Saturday in Sacramento.
